Le Leche League Breastfeeding Support

La Leche League is a not-for-profit group that supports pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. In Nanaimo we meet the secondWednesday of the month from 10 am till noon and offer access to a great lending library. Our peer-to-peer support and evidence-based knowledge helps make breastfeeding accessible to all mothers, whether they are heading back to work, are stay-at-home mothers, have children with disabilities, or are coping with other challenges that might make breastfeeding difficult. To really benefit from the meetings we encourage mothers to join a few months before they have their baby. In this way they'll be able to see mothering-through-breastfeeding in action!
Each month we focus on one in a series of four topics, but we are always open to discuss whatever concerns may be on your mind.
Meeting topics:
#1 -- The Advantages of Breastfeeding for Mother and Baby
#2 -- The Baby Arrives -- The Family and the Breastfed baby
#3 -- The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Difficulties
#4 -- Nutrition and Weaning
Nursing babies and siblings are always welcome!
